Images of things that have been recycled into something cooler than what it originally was is one of my favourite things to look at. Most people call it “Upcycling” But I call it pure genius. From old ladders, cars, books and even pallets, people have all been given the upcycling treatment to all of them. But what about normally pointless empty toilet paper rolls?!? Surely there is something we can turn them into!? Well, it seems that there are hundreds of amazing ideas that people have come up with to use them up. Well, I have not got the time to bring you hundreds of them and you have most probably not got the time to read them. So why don’t we just take a look at what I think is ten of the best things you can make with empty loo rolls…
Art Caddy from Cardboard (Toilet Paper) Rolls
We start this post off with a good one. This rather amazing “Stationary Caddy” is perfect to use up lots of loo rolls all at once, and great to make with kids or without. Want to make one? Well just click on that image link and away you go! (might have a go myself)
Toilet roll sculpture from Yuken Teruya
What you are looking at is the artwork of “Yuken Teruya” and is nothing more than some old toilet rolls that make been cut and folded to look like sprouting and spreading branches! While this is most probably way beyond us normal people’s art skills, it is still worth including because with a little bit of practice you might be able to do something similar.
Loo Roll Bird Feeder
Simply roll an empty toilet roll in peanut butter and then roll that in some seeds and Bob’s your uncle you have an instant DIY bird feeder! This amazing idea is done step by step with you over on the image source link. Good use of empty rolls and great fun to make as well.

This is not some weird Alchemy Transmutation but is, in fact, something rather amazing to make with all those empty toilet rolls! And the best bit is that there is once again a full on a step-by-step guide on the image link! This just might be worth a go I think.

Now before anyone says anything I know this is not the most original thing made with toilet rolls but this image, this build is! What I love about it is that it’s not too hard to copy and this one looks far better than all the other castle built with loo rolls. Love it, love it, love it! This fantastic idea for Halloween doesn’t just look great but is also fairly simple to make. Just click on the (source) link and there is a great step-by-step guide on how to make them. Fun to make even if Halloween is a long time away I think!

Why not bring a touch of Disney Magic to your home by making these rather cool looking Dwarfs from Snow White?!? Simple to make and they would be great fun to make with the little ones or maybe for a Christmas decoration.
Amazing artwork done with loo rolls
WOW! For me, that is just about all I can say about these incredible pieces of art so maybe it is best to just hand you over to the words of the artist themselves Ms Annastassia Elias: “I cut the small paper shapes that I stick inside the toilet paper rolls. I use tweezers to manipulate the paper shapes. I select the paper of the same colour as the roll. It gives the illusion that the paper figures make part of the roll.” So it is nothing that the likes of you and me will be able to replicate. But it’s still worth including in this list for sure.

For me, it just doesn’t get any better than this. Being a nerd, I have more wires than I can use and always have bags and draws full of them. Well, I think that is in the past because now I know how to make one of these amazing “Toilet roll wire organisers” by following link!
